Grey Squirrels and Foxes
  Although grey squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) appear to be friendly and furry creatures, they are today, classed as vermin and a very damaging pest. Their gnawing through pipes and cables can lead to considerable destruction by water and fire damage.
Foxes (Vulpes vulpes)have adapted to the urban environment with considerable success making their warrens in suburban gardens and along railway embankments. As well as causing damage to gardens and disrupting rubbish bins, when foraging for food, they often spread canine mange. Although mainly nocturnal, it is becoming increasingly common to see them in daylight.
